High School Confidential
There are several commercials on tv for high school confidential a new show on WE tv. I tried to find the ad on youtube but couldn’t. In the ad there are 12 girls that are supposed to show the life of real college students. They start out the ad but saying “never once have i broke out in song…never once have I danced through these halls” They continue saying how their lives are nothing like High School Musical but instead one is pregnant, one has an absent father, another has a brain tumor, and the others each have their own issue. It is supposed to show the real life of high school, however I see it as totally untrue. I am from a middle class family in a comfortable suburb of chicago but i still had friends that delt with some of these issues. I had a friend who was pregnant and some that were from single parent families. We all still had a relatively good time though. I feel like it is this way for the majority of high school students across the US. High School definitely isnt always a fun loving musical but for most students it isnt a drama and tradgity filled time either. I really wasnt a fan of this show portaying the average girls high school life in this way.
